In June of 1976, Chris M. Barkley accidentally found sf fandom on the last page of an issue of Analog SF.

Since then he has attended and/or volunteered his time at hundreds of sff conventions, including thirty-four Worldcons. From 1999 - 2019, he promoted efforts to modernize Hugo Award categories at the WSFS Business Meeting.

Since 1997, he has written columns, essays, reviews and served as a news editor for Mike Glyer’s File770.com. He was a Hugo Award Finalist in the Best Fan Writer category in 2022 and won in the same category in Chengdu, China in 2023.
